2019 NZILA Firth Conference
The Xteriorscapes team managed to close the office for a couple of days to take part in this year’s NZILA Firth Conference which was held in Christchurch. This year the conference theme was ‘disruption’ which was very fitting for our location and community, covering many topics including disaster disruption, socio-ecological disruption, urban disruption and practice disruption. The excellent presentations were closely followed by walking tours through public-space projects in the CBD, led by Landscape Architects involved in the design.
We were very lucky to hear from a wide range of national and international speakers who brought so much passion and knowledge with them when speaking about their area of expertise. The international speakers included Julie Bargmann (USA), Kristina Hill (USA), Bjorn Low (Singapore), Antwi Akom (USA), Ng Sek San (Malaysia) and Walter Hood (USA). It was fantastic to have them in New Zealand helping conference members with their continued development.
